Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Manage development of digital assets that populate book-specificweb sites and learning management systems in coordination with book developmentto make media an integral part of the book story.

  • Manage product design, product implementation and tracking of allproject details.

  • Set up, own, and monitor budgets and schedules.

  • Facilitate communication among acquisitions editors, marketing,and in-house technical teams to develop products accordingly.

  • Write project planning documents, launch memos, and multimediaasset spreadsheets.

  • Create Requests For Proposals (RFP), solicit bids from vendors, andwrite contracts.

  • Hire and manage cross-functional teams, including vendors,content-providers, freelancers, full-service project management vendors andquality assurance vendors.

DigitalStrategy

  • Collaborate with Acquisitions Editors, Marketing Managers, SalesRepresentatives, and Learning Technology Specialists to obtain feedbackregarding market needs and to provide updates on Pearson and competitors’products.

  • Evaluate potential digital products and advise Acquisitions Editorsupon request.

  • Support Acquisitions Editors in signings where digital contentplays a critical a role.

  • Work with Marketing Manager to prepare competitive analyses andproduct feature descriptions for digital products.

  • Work on market research projects in collaboration with themarket research team, including the creation of surveys and the planning offocus groups for assigned projects; includes writing questionnaires andfollow-up questions.

Sales/MarketingSupport

  • National sales meeting preparation support (review marketingmaterials, provide samples as necessary, create walkthrough scripts of digitalassets, etc.)

  • Resolve queries as they are escalated from sales reps,professors, and Customer Technical Support.

  • Upon request, attend national conferences. Responsibilities mayinclude: research competitor media, coordinate focus groups, demonstratePearson products, and attend educational lectures on how digital content isbeing used in and out of classroom.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a digital creative productionrole, with 2 years specifically producing educational software and managingcross-functional teams.

  • Mastery of complex content and scheduling systems, and abilityto track large amount of information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to gain consensus among stakeholders and tointeract with internal departments using professionalinterpersonal skills and solutions oriented approach.

  • An understanding of technical product management includingproducts using JavaScript, HTML, XML, CMS, Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Must possess an intellectual curiosity and passion for educationalcontent and an eagerness to stay abreast of the ever-changing nature of softwaretools.

  • B.A. or BS required
